Qatar stock index drops 139.45 points; market cap down by over QR7.2bn

DOHA: Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) index dropped 139.45 points, or 1.21 percent, on Thursday when it closed at 11,418.68 points.

The market cap decreased by over QR7.2bn  to QR602.39bn from QR 609.63bn registered Wednesday.

 The daily turnover increased to QR1.09bn with a volume of 7,67,632 shares from 4,288 transactions compared with QR204.48m with a volume of 5,409,461 shares from 3,589 transactions on Wednesday.

Indices of five sectors ended in the red and two in the green.
Banks and Financial Services dropped the most, down 1.42 percent to 3,097.41 points. Telecoms gained 0.14 percent while consumer goods edged up 0.06 percent.

From the 43 companies listed on QSE 14 gained, 24 dropped and five remained unchanged.
