DOHA: The Primary Health Care Corporation’s (PHCC) Mobile Breast Screening Unit has begun its city-wide tour, following its arrival at Abu Bakr Al Siddiq Health Centre.
The mobile unit, the first of its kind in Qatar, will initially focus on offering mammography as part of promoting breast and bowel cancer screening in the country.
It manned by highly skilled healthcare professionals trained to efficiently operate the facility’s state-of-the-art equipment.
Its services can be accessed through prior appointment, said a statement yesterday. Screening will be conducted in utmost privacy by a female mammography technologist and trained nurses.
They will provide vital information and responses to all questions from patients about the examination process.
Appointments for screening in the mobile unit can be made by calling PHCC’s Cancer Screening Call Centre at 8001112 in advance.
