DOHA: The Cultural Village Foundation- Katara has opened an exhibition featuring the finest among the collection of Iraqi artist Talib Al Baghdadi.
Katara Deputy Manager for Operations, Ahmad Al Sayed, along with Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani, and representative of Iraqi Embassy Nawar Sadeq, were present during the inauguration of the exhibition. Al Sayed stressed Katara’s keenness in hosting important exhibitions such as the one by the Iraqi artist. “This is due to the value of such exhibitions in raising the importance of Iraqi fine art and the distinguished work they have introduced. That, indeed, have some implications not only on Iraqi fine art, but also on the Arabian as well as the universal one,” he said.
Al Baghdadi said: “I’m not a professional artist, but I’m passionate about this type of ancient art specifically Iraqi and Islamic ones, which are sought to represent the modern movement through ancient centuries in unique, innovative, and amusing paintings.”
