The Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF), one of the apex bodies of Indian Embassy in Doha, will hold its prestigious ICBF DAY 2017 today.
The event is an effort to recognise the social and humanitarian services provided by the community leaders and advocates of philanthropy in Qatar, through the reputed ICBF awards.
The event, open to all ICBF members, will see the attendance of leaders from the Indian diaspora and other distinguished dignitaries, with P Kumaran, the Ambassador of India to Qatar, as the chief guest.
ICBF will be presenting awards under Humanitarian, Appreciation and ICBF Kanjani titles. The ICBF Kanjani is the highest of its order, named after the ICBF founder late M A Kanjani.
The award will be presented to Devidass Aswani, a senior level personnel of NBK Trading who has been a statement of philanthropy throughout his continuous association with the ICBF.
The recipients of the ICBF Humanitarian awards this year are Dr Smitha Anil Kumar (Hamad Medical Corporation), Linsha Annie George (Case Manager, Rehabilitation Unit, Rumailah Hospital), Rathi Pillai (Case Manager, National Cancer Center for Care and Research), Mohammed Ali Kurikkal Madathil (HMC, Stores Department) and Shahnavas Cheriyaputhan Veedu (Qatar Airways).
The recipients of the ICBF Appreciation awards are Mannangi (Division Manager, Al Muftah Contracting and Trading Co.), Faisal Al Hudaiwi (MoI Public Relations), Aster Medicals, KIMS Medicals, Atlas Medicals and Wellcare Pharmacy.
The recipients of Humanitarian Appreciation awards are the Ministry of Interior’s Public Relations and Community Policing Departments, and Dr Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Thani, Director of Public Health, Ministry of Public Health.
Meanwhile, some ICBF members will be will be felicitated during the event, including Dr R Seetharaman, CEO Doha Bank, for receiving the Pravasi Bhartiya Samman, C V Rappai, Manager, Jumbo Electronics, for being nominated for NORKA Director, and Anad Holla, for his extensive support to promote ICBF events.
The ICBF, under the aegis of Embassy of India, has served as the prime umbrella for philanthropy and benevolent services since its formation in 1984.
