DOHA: Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA), in conjunction with the US-based Global Industry Development Network (GIDN), hosted this week a group of international associations in a familiarisation trip to Qatar, showcasing Qatar’s world-class business events offering.
The associations were introduced to potential local host partners for their international meetings during a series of networking events hosted by QTA. Scott Campbell, Executive Director of the GIDN, SAID, “Qatar is now home to a variety of first class meetings facilities, providing international associations with an excellent choice of meeting facilities, with the opportunity to participate in truly unique local experiences. This familiarisation trip will develop new working relationships between US-based international associations and organizations in Qatar. These relationships will not only help US-based associations grow their network in the Middle East, but they will assist in the development of the local industry.”
Having recently hosted the 32nd Conference of the International Society for Quality in Health Care, as well as the World Conference of the International Traffic Medicine Association and the General Meeting of the International Air Transport Association, Qatar is fast developing itself as a hub for international meetings in the Middle East.
QTA works hand-in-hand with the private sector to empower local stakeholders and increase their involvement in the national effort to promote Qatar as a premium destination for business events.
