Qatar Airways, one of the world’s fastest growing airlines, is the sponsor of the cricket tournament, which is being organised by the Qatar Cricket Association at the West Bay Grounds.
Badar bagged four wickets, while Tariq claimed three as Khan Eleven, batting first, could make only 165 in 25 overs. Talal (23) and Abdullah (20) were the only batsman who offered some resistance.
Badar top-scored for Q-Chem with 38 and enabled his team to edge home by one wicket in the final over. Vijith and Zahid made 24 each for Q-Chem.
In another match, Qadeer smashed 83 to power Masters Club to a 17-run win over Gulf Contracting Club by 17 runs. His knock carried his team to 169 in 25 overs. Gulf Contracting were restricted to 152 despite Philo’s superb 50. Mudassar and Aman took two wickets each, while Qadeer captured one wicket.
Hareesh struck 70 not out but could not inspire Doha Bank who lost to Khyber Club by 17 runs. Batting first, Khyber Club made a fighting 186 for four in 23 overs. Bilal hammered 68, Riaz hit 37 not out, while Tariq hit 20.
Besides Harish’s big knock, no batsman could support him and they lost the mach by 17 runs. Faheem was the pick of the bowlers accounting for three rival batsmen. Aman also grabbed two wickets.
Navneeth and Ajay blasted a half-century each and guided their team, Salam Energizer to a comfortable 28-run victory against United Challengers. Navneeth struck 72 not out and Ajay hit an unbeaten 62 out of their team’s 159 for four in 25 overs. Feroz led United Challengers’ collapse with four wickets. Bose, three wickets, also played his part well. Manjunath (23 not out) was the top-scorer with 23 not out.
Christopher’s superb 50 was the highlight of Commercial Bank’s big 212 for nine in 25 overs against Alpha Fire Club.
