Bangladesh Ambassador Ashud Ahmed hoisting the national flag to celebrate the Victory Day at the embassy premises, yesterday.
The Embassy of Bangladesh in Doha and the Bangladesh Community yesterday observed the 45th anniversary of the glorious Victory Day of Bangladesh with due solemnity.
The programme started with the hoisting of the National Flag of Bangladesh by Ambassador Ashud Ahmed at the Embassy premises in the presence of embassy officials and a number of Bangladeshi expatriates.
After the ceremonial flag hoisting, they stood in solemn silence for a minute as a mark of respect to the memories of the martyrs of the liberation War of Bangladesh.
The messages from President, Prime Minister, Foreign Minister and State Minister for foreign Affairs of Bangladesh on this day were read out. Doa was offered for the salvation of the departed souls of the martyrs of the Liberation War 1971.
Later a discussion on the significance of the glorious Victory Day was held. Ambassador Ashud Ahmed recalled the extraordinary epic role played by Father of the Nation of Bangladesh and the freedom fighters in Bangladesh's emergence as an independent country.
