Pupils and staff at Gulf English School (GES) Infants Department celebrated Qatar National Day yesterday with a host of activities honouring the culture and heritage of the country’s past, present and future.
Ahead of official National Day celebrations on December 18, GES children and staff dressed up in traditional clothes and came together in the school’s National Day Majlis to take part in Ardha (sword dance) and enjoy sand crafts, demonstrations of authentic Qatari recipes and much more.
They also explored a museum which was organised by the school to explain the history of Qatar and which showed displays marking the present culture and plans of the state.
As a CIS-accredited school that delivers the British curriculum, GES focuses on creating global citizens who understand and value all cultures and traditions.
