Best Buddies Qatar annually celebrates Qatar’s National Day by organising concerts and activities for its members. This year 800 students with and without intellectual challenges participated in Best Buddies Qatar celebrations.
On Wednesday and Thursday, Best Buddies Qatar invited students and teachers from over 50 secondary schools — boys and girls separately — including Shafallah Center for Children with Special Needs.
The secondary schools for boys included Abu Baker Alsedeeq, Alshahania, Nasser Bin Abdulla, Alatia, Meassb Bin Omair, Bin Khaldoon,  Malik Bin Anass, Almontaza, Alyarmook, Abdulla Bin Terkey, Qatar Technical School, Abdulrahman Bin Jassim, Alahnaf Bin Qaiss, Alrashad, Alqadessia, Alwakra, Omar Bin Alkhattab, Alwafaa, and Hamza Bin Abdulmotaleb.
The girls’ schools included Maymona, Albayan, Barzan, Alrefaa, Somaia, Moza Bint Mohammed, Zobaida, Amna Aljaida, Amna Bint Wahab, Rabaa Aladawia, Alhedaia, Alsalam, Qatar, Ateca, Alshayma, Roqaya, Alnahda, Omalamad, Omama, and Albayan.
The events took place in Abdullah bin Sehaim Hall at Qatar Sports Club.
Students performed national and modern dances and sang poems. The celebrations continued with singing the national anthem and reciting the Holy Quran. The students were presented with gifts, national symbols and pictures. Best Buddies Qatar received support for decoration, stage, musical effects and gifts from Zoom Events & Production.
On Sunday, Best Buddies Qatar held another celebration for members of its College Programme. Students from Stenden University, the participants of the Best Buddies Qatar Club, arranged fun activities with gifts and lunch for Shafallah students at a venue provided by Museum of Islamic Art. The event was supported and financed by Creativity Connects, Teyeseer Motors, Q.Media, Suzuki, and Arts & Crafts.
Q.Media CEO Yusif Rashid Al Khater was present. Teachers of Shafallah Center for Children with Special Needs, Stenden University professors and Best Buddies Qatar officials participated in activities.
