Doha, Qatar: Lucas Gabriel scored a brace as Al Markhiya edged Lusail 2-1 at the QSL Cup at the Thani Bin Jassim Stadium yesterday. 

The contest was an even battle before Al Markhiya clinched lead in the 37th minute as Gabriel scored their opening goal.

Lusail equalised early in the second half with Amir Rustay finding the net in the 55th minute.

However, Al Markhiya’s hard efforts paid dividends as Gabriel struck again in the 73rd minute for his side to go up and eventually ensure victory. With a third win of the tournament, Al Markhiya moved up to ten points, while Lusail remained on 4 points.

Meanwhile, Al Waab continued their unbeaten run prevailing 2-0 over Al Bidda in the sixth round of 2025-2026 season QSL Cup at the Al Shamal Stadium. 

Both of Al Waab’s goals came in the second half through Bahaa Faisal (55th minute) and Ossenio Cesar (67th minute).

Al Bidda were down to 10-men after Javier Martines was sent off in the 65th minute after receiving a second yellow card. Al Waab’s third win of the tournament took their tally to 12 points while Al Bidda, following a second defeat, remain on 8 points.
