MES celebrates Children’s Day

Doha: MES Indian School recently marked Children’s Day celebrations with traditional gaiety and fanfare, highlighting the importance of caring, loving, and affection for children. Section-wise, special assemblies were conducted on zoom platform emphasizing the birth anniversary of Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of free India who was also fondly remembered as ‘Chacha Nehru’ for his love for children. 

Various offline literary events were organized for the students of Grade I to XII. Students delivered speeches paying tribute to Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. Students of Class I had Drawing and Colouring competition on ‘RedRose For Chacha Nehru’; for Classes II and III Chart Making competition on the topic ‘We Love You, Chacha Nehru’; for Class IV, Book Mark Making on ‘Famous quotes of Nehru’, while Class V students had ‘Talking Time’ on ‘Life of Chacha Nehru.’ 

Class VI had a poem recitation on ‘A Tribute to Chacha Nehru’, Class VII students had a speech contest on ‘Children of today Make a Nation of Tomorrow’, Class VIII had essay writing on ‘Commemorating Chacha Nehru, ‘students of Classes IX and X had a humorous speech on ‘We may lie, but our faces don’t’ and for Classes XI and XII, a speech on ‘How can humour make life less stressful?’. 

Congratulating the winners and the contestants for their participation and contributions, the school principal, Hameeda Kadar, urged the students to uphold universal brotherhood, develop leadership qualities and follow the ideals of ‘Chacha’ Nehru.
