DOHA: A new private school offering English National Curriculum has opened. GEMS Wellington School – Qatar in Al Wakrah is owned and operated by GEMS Education, a leading education provider in the region. It will welcome up to 140 students from FS1 through to Year 6 in the first year and in successive years will grow and expand to include Year 13, said a statement yesterday.
Dino Varkey, Group Executive Director and Board Member, GEMS Education, said: “We are excited to welcome our first students. With the opening of the school, we are reaffirming our commitment to provide high quality education to families in Qatar and the region.” The school joins GEMS’ English National Curriculum school network which includes GEMS Wellington International School in Dubai.
