DOHA: An orphan city being developed by Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services (RAF) in Al Rayhaniya, Hatay Province, Turkey, will soon be able to house the Syrian orphans.
The housing units are being furnished to accommodate Syrian orphans sheltering in Turkey.
It was found by a delegation from Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services (RAF) that visited the city “RAF-IHH city for building humanity” recently.
The delegation was led by Dr Ayed bin Dabssan Al Qahtani, Chairman, Board of Trustees, and General Director, RAF, Dr Mohamad Salah Ibrahim, Deputy General Manager of RAF, Ahmad Yousuf Al Fakhro, Head of Financial Resources Development and Media Section among other officials from the ambassadors of mercy at RAF.
The housing units are being furnished with home appliances and other necessary gadgets and it will begin accommodating the beneficiary orphans soon.
The city will be a role model for caring and rehabilitating orphan children, said Dr Ayed Al Qahtani. The facility will do more than providing monthly financial support to orphans or providing shelters and food to them. The idea behind developing such a city is to prepare the orphan children as they can help themselves and the community. They could also be able to make their contributions to build their countries, said Al Qahtani.
The city will be opened soon, and will provide a complete service including social care and education, said Ibrahim.
