DOHA: The fifth edition of the Qatar Transport Safety Forum (formerly the ITS & Road Safety Forum) returns from 17-18 October.
This year, it is being held under the patronage of Minister of Transport and Communications H E Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti, said a press release issued yesterday.
The forum serves as a unique platform for the local authorities such as the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Transport and Communications, the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) as well as the relevant companies to discuss their initiatives in improving safety across all modes of transport in the country. In addition, distinguished GCC and global experts will share best practices and success stories on transport safety improvement.
This year’s edition will be the most diverse in the forum’s 5-year history. The Ministry of Transport and Communications organizes the event in collaboration with IQPC Middle East.
“In the wake of the announcement of the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals, transportation has become a focus of many of the world’s governments and Qatar is committed to achieving the goals set out by the UN which are also aligned with the Qatar National Vision 2030,” stated Mohaned El-Mahgoub, Forum Director, IQPC Middle East.
“The forum will serve as a catalyst for accelerated development by bringing in some of the most preeminent experts from Qatar, Sweden, Switzerland, UK, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Austria, USA and Singapore,” El-Mahgoub said.
