Birla Public School celebrates Independence Day

DOHA: Birla Public School celebrated the 72nd Independence Day of India with great fervor and gusto at their main campus in Abu Hamour.

The Indian Tricolour was hoisted by the Founder Chairman Dr Mohan Thomas, in the presence of former Chairman C V Rappai, school officials, parents, teachers, support staff and students.

C V Rappai delivered the Independence Day address. He exalted the students to be the true citizens of India and perform their duties in the true spirit of patriotism. He also paid tribute to the great leaders due to whom today we are enjoying the freedom from all kind of exploitation.

He addressed the gathering to dream like Tagore, “It is a heavenly nation where ills of today vanish from! It is a nation ideal in all respects! It is a nation, foreigners love to come and settle down! It is a nation of unity in diversity where all men and women live in health, happiness and prosperity,” he said.

Children sang patriotic songs and presented a dance on patriotic songs. Parents, well-wishers, children were distributed sweets packet on the occasion.
