DOHA: Qatar Charity (QC) has launched a new application for collecting donations aimed at facilitating the donation process and offering new services to donors.
New smart screens have been installed at various locations on which donors can view QC’s projects. The devices are in areas frequented by crowds and allow cash and electronic donations.
“The devices were distributed in crowded places, service locations and malls. Some are kept for events, exhibitions and festivals,” said Abdullah Abdul Hadi Al Dossari, Director, Collection Management. QC.
“There are some 1,434 devices for electronic and cash donations and spread everywhere to facilitate the donation process and save time and effort,” he added.
Al Dossari explained how the experiment started with 50 devices to collect donations He said the new device is safer for donors and will help charity work in Qatar in general and the benefiting countries, in particular.
“QC has launched the mechanism because donation collection systems are a priority for continuous development and update to achieve greater interest and receive bigger donations.”
QC has 21 branches in Qatar, including its headquarters in Al Rayyan (men and women offices), Al Kharaitiyat (men and women offices), Al Khor, Ruwais (men and women offices), Al ‘azeezya (men and women offices), Al Gharafa, Al Markhiyah (men and women offices), Al Hilal (headquarters), Al Wakrah, Umm Salal, Khamees and Jum’a Souqs, Ain Khaled and Muaither (men and women offices).
Qatar Charity has 92 collection points and offices in complexes and malls across the country, including City Center, Hyatt Plaza, Landmark, Lulu, Villaggio and The Pearl-Qatar, among others.
QC has allocated more than six points to receive and distribute donations in kind in Al Khor, Industrial Area Street No. 48, Industrial Area 5, Al Khamees, Al Jom’a, Barwa, Mesaieed, Al ‘azeezya Tent and Aspire Square. It has also prepared 215 containers for donations in kind.
