Qatar stocks close lower

DOHA: Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) index dropped 29.68 points, or 0.25 percent, when the bourse closed Tuesday at 11,873.55 points compared to 11,903.23 points on Monday.

The market capitalisation decreased to QR632.09bn compared with QR633.49bn registered on Monday.

The trading value today decreased to QR208.28m with a volume of 5,593,728 shares from 3,586 transactions compared with QR211.55m with a volume of 4,960,327 shares from 2,582 transactions on Monday.

Indices of two sectors gained and five declined today. Real estate index advanced 0.32 percent to 2,674.47 points and transport index edged up 0.01 percent.

Insurance index dropped the most today, down 1.46 percent to 4,752.67 points.

QSE Total Return Index dropped 0.25 percent (18,452.11 points). QSE Al Rayan Islamic Index dropped 0.18 percent (4,623.28 points) and QSE All Share Index dropped 0.19 percent (3,180.76 points).

Investors traded shares of 41 from the 43 QSE-listed companies today. From these shares of 14 gained, 23 declined and four remained unchanged.
