Doha: Loyola International Schools have started operations at the new campus at Wukair on April 7 for the new academic year.
Close to 600 parents visited the campus last week as they sent their little children to the first day of school. Loyola International School has opened about 40 classrooms in its state-of-the-art campus after the first campus at Al Nasr has reached full capacity.
R Anup Chakravarthy, Managing Director has said on this occasion, “we are very happy to see so many parents have trusted Loyola with their child’s future and we are committed to provide high quality of learning mixed with fun so children can actually enjoy the new phase in their life”.
Loyola Schools also announced that after an extensive application process, Shifa P Shaikh has been appointed as the Principal for the new campus at Wukair starting this year.
Anup, stated, “I am excited to bring someone of Mrs. Shifa’s background and experience to our school. Her commitment to student success, understanding of how to support teachers and their work, and willingness to build on traditions of success were all illustrated throughout the application process. We are eager to welcome her to our team.”
Shaikh comes to Loyola from Pune, India where she has most recently been serving as a Principal and Management representative. Loyola International School Management Committee representative Prasad Koduru has stated, “Mrs. Shaikh works collaboratively with staff and honours the integrity and honesty that emerges from open and authentic communication. She is enthusiastic about what learners can become and is focused upon productive thinking actions.”
Shaikh comes with over 20 years of professional experience in various capacities of the Education industry. She holds a dual Masters’ degree in Education and Management and has worked at different schools with multiple syllabus and hence brings a perfect blend of traditional and modern-day teaching.
When asked about how she felt about her new role, Shaikh stated, “I am extremely excited to be joining the Loyola International School staff and community! I believe that the heart of Loyola is focused on doing what is best for all kids and I am honored to be a part of the team that will continue to do this in the future!”
Loyola International School (www.lisdoha.com) said in a statement that it has reached almost 75% of the capacity and only a limited number of seats are available for some grades before closing the admissions for this term.
“Our new campus at Al Wukair is strategically placed inside the Ezdan Oasis compound having connections to the new expressways that have opened between Doha, F ring road, G ring roads etc majorly decreasing the driving times and buses travel time for our students to reach the campus from other parts in the city,” the statement added.
