Over 500 girls & women benefit from Qatar Charity initiative

More than 500 girls and women benefitted from Holy Quran reciting and memorising programme organised by Qatar Charity (QC) at a cost of QR182,500 in Gaza.
A 70-day course was held in collaboration with Al Henzab Holy Quran Center and Dar Al Quran and Sunnah and Young Muslim Women Association.
The programme helped girl students memorise the Holy Quran in governorates of the Gaza Strip. It has included religious, educational and administrative guided courses for developing the girls’ skills and qualifying them in memorisation field.
The project aimed at encouraging female students to understand and memorise the Quran, reinforce their religious culture, said director of QC’s Gaza office, Mohammed Abu Halloub. Qatar Charity is looking forward to a family's future in which housewives have knowledge of Holy Quran and sciences together as a nucleus for a good community capable of giving. Abu Halloub, thanked people of Qatar in general for their support towards their brothers in Palestine, and to Al-Henzab Holy Quran Center in Qatar in particular for financing the project.
Women are in need for Quranic cultural programmes as there are many things which distract the youth from adherence to the Holy Quran, said Um Ali Aila, a representative of Young Muslim Women Association. She has also praised the supporting role of Qatar Charity in helping the memorisation centres to provide guided memorisation programmes. Moreover, she has drawn the attention to a lack of training and educational places that contribute to involving students in memorising the Holy Quran and learning its sciences.
Aya Mohammed, a sixteen-year-old student, has expressed her deep happiness for being enrolled in the programme enabling her to be done with the whole Holy Quran in “Processions of females memorising and mastering the Quran” project. Confidently assuring that she has been able to take the first step in the journey of mastering Holy Quran science, Aya said, “Special thanks to Qatar Charity, to those who have supported the project in Qatar, and to whomever provided the right conditions to help us perfectly memorise the Quran.”
The student, Tahani Abdullah, has commended the services and efforts exerted in support for the students, especially in primary and prep schools to help them complete memorising the chapters and skillfully interpret it. She mentioned that she had managed to memorise 10 chapters of the Holy Quran during the period of the project and she showed willingness to do her best to eagerly finish memorising the whole Holy Quran till learning it by heart and comprehending its sciences.
