The State Cabinet, in light of its follow up for the work of specialised ministerial groups, yesterday heard a presentation by the Minister of Economy and Trade on storage areas and projects related to logistics areas , food security , central markets projects (Umm Salal, Al Wakrah, Al Sailiyah), hospitals and schools , tourism , and the partnership between the public sector and the private sector.
The Minister who is also head of the ministerial group to stimulate the participation of the private sector in economic development projects explained the procedures of implementation, the progress and the cost of each project.
Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, who chaired the regular weekly session of the Cabinet, stressed the importance of following up the implementation of the Emir's directives to support the private sector to take part in the economic development projects, in accordance with Qatar’s National Development Strategy. The Prime Minister directed to re-evaluate the cost of infrastructure projects and the rental value of land in areas of economic projects, and ensure completion of all projects on schedule.
The Cabinet approved draft decisions of the Minister of Transport and Communications on registration of marine vessels, controls of operation of marine vessels, and the equipment and tools needed for the achievement of security conditions and maritime safety.
The Cabinet took the necessary measures for the ratification the following: Paris Agreement on climate change; MoU for cooperation in the field of organising exhibitions between Qatar and Turkey; MoU for cooperation in the field of information and communications technology between the Ministry of Transport and Communications and the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications of the Republic of Turkey; MoU for cooperation in the field of standardisation between the Qatar General Organisation for Standards and Metrology in Qatar and the Turkish Standards Institute in Turkey; MoU for cooperation in the field of health and medical science between Qatar and Turkey.
