Met forecasts strong winds in northern areas

The Qatar Meteorology Department has warned of strong winds at places and high seas in the northern areas by night.
The country is expected to be affected by an extension of a high pressure system accompanied with fresh to strong northwesterly winds ranging inshore between 12 to 22kt reaching 25kt at times in northern areas with a chance of daytime blowing dust and low visibility in open areas. Visibility will be between four to eight km or less at places at first.
In addition, sea warnings will be in effect for high waves (8-10/13ft) and strong winds reaching 35kt. In general, the weather will be mild during daytime with some clouds becoming cold at night with temperatures dropping slightly below their average where maximum is expected to range between 20 to 23°C in Doha and minimum between 14 to 17°C and cooler than that in exterior areas with a greater feeling of coldness due to fresh winds.
Abu Samrah, Mesaieed and Wakrah are forecast to be coldest with minimum temperature of 14 degrees Celsius.
