The much-awaited 'Italian Cuisine Week' is slated to start on November 21 in which an Italian 'supreme menu' will be offered by five prime Italian restaurants at very reasonable prices.
Italian Embassy in Qatar, in cooperation with the Italian Chamber of Commerce and The Luxury Network, has scheduled a rich programme for this special week. Il Mercato Antico, La Veranda, Nonna Zanon, Antica Pesa and Itaia Mia will offer a supreme menu of special Italian dishes throughout the week.the opening event will take place at Lulu Hypermarket on Shamal Road and the cultural event of Italian cuisine will take place at Katara.
The opening ceremony is expected to see 300 participants. Qatar Airways will be conducting a raffle draw on the opening event and two tickets will be offered to any destination in Italy.
Talking to the press, Guido De Sanctis, Italian Ambassador, said: “In the past four years, the number of Italian Restaurants has increased in Qatar and food imports from Italy to Qatar have also witnessed remarkable increase.”
He said Italy was exporting food items worth 37m Euros to the world. “Italian food is probably as famous as Italy’s artistic and historical treasures and we are proud to celebrate our heritage in Qatar and internationally as everyone shares a passion for food of Italy,” he further said.
Palma Libotte, Chairperson of the Italian Chamber, said: “By promoting the vent on social media we have reached 45,000 people following us, and 2000 followers in two days." “The cooperative interaction of our partners at this event has produced amazing results, allowing us to create an unforgettable Italian experience like never before in Qatar,” she further added.
