DOHA: Best Buddies Qatar has developed a programme ‘My Future is in my Hands’ which foresees the permanent extension of its cooperation with the health and medical centres.
The programme starts with children between the age of 7 years and 12 years, the Pen Pal Division. Recently Best Buddies Qatar conducted agreements with Doha Specialized Dental Center, Dr Hassan Al Abdulla Medical Center, Al Magrabi Eye, Ear and Dental Center in order to provide high standard medical services to improve and maintain its members’ health.
Dr Hassan Al Abdullah Medical Center would organise health awareness activities, drawing, reading stories, colouring pictures, learning English, which are all related to health improvement. This medical center committed to proved counseling for healthy skin, mouth to Best Buddies Qatar members.
Doha Specialized Dental Center granted 50 male and female members of Best Buddies Qatar, Shafallah Center and other caring institutions the vouchers for dental treatment including cleaning teeth and gum infections treatment.
DOHA: Katara Art Center (KAC) opened Summer Diaries, its first community-sourced exhibition of photography.
The exhibition is open until November 20 at the main Gallery in KAC. It features images captured by by Ghayyan Al Amine, Saleh Al Khulaifi, Sarah Lauck, Omer Mohammad and Leila Natsheh.
A committee comprising photographers and artists Jaber Al Azmeh, George Awdeh, and KAC artistic director and curator Mayssa Fattouh was tasked to choose the images based on both their aesthetic and storytelling qualities.
