Officials receiving complaints from people at the Compensation Claims Committee headquarters at Doha Exhibition and Convention Center.
The Compensation Claims Committee has received more than 600 requests for case registration from people affected by the current blockade of Qatar.
It also has received over 200 enquiry calls from residents who have lost their properties in the siege countries. The committee has received different types of complaints from residents, like losing of camels, issues associated with real estates and seizure of agricultural and commercial shipments at the ports of siege countries.
Many residents had invested heavily in real estate sector in siege countries and now they have lost their shares. Some investors have yet not received ownership documents of their purchased properties.
Some people have also lodged complaints that they had to face very harsh treatment from security authorities of the blockading countries when they were in siege countries during the early days of crisis. They said, they never expected to face such kind of treatment from brother countries.
Attorney-General, Dr Ali bin Fetais Al Marri, also visited the Compensation Claims Committee headquarters at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC), on Wednesday and discussed about the mechanism to receive requests filed by people affected by the blockade.
The affected people are asking for setting up more branches instead of one to meet the workload, and officials expect more branches may be established soon.
Many people who have filed the cases, whom The Peninsula met with, said that their monetary loses were estimated by millions of Qatari riyals. The minimum value of any loss is about QR1m.
