Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Municipality, represented by the Public Cleanliness Department, has continued implementing the National Waste Segregation at Source Programme, distributing hundreds of additional recycling and organic waste containers across Al Rayyan Municipality as part of Qatar’s efforts to strengthen sustainable waste management practices.
During May 2026, the ministry distributed 885 blue bins designated for recyclable waste, alongside an equal number of grey bins for organic waste in several areas of Al Rayyan. Distribution operations are ongoing to ensure full coverage of the targeted districts. With the latest rollout, the total number of blue recycling bins distributed under the programme in Al Rayyan Municipality has reached 15,027.
