DPS- Modern Indian School, refusing to let the constraints of the coronavirus lockdown disturb its annual planner, organised its first-ever virtual ‘Scholar Badge, Proficiency and 100 percent Attendance Award Ceremony’ to acknowledge and appreciate the hard work, dedication and enthusiasm of the students of Grade XI and XII ( 2019-20).
It was aired live on Facebook from 4pm to 5pm on May 27. The occasion was graced by the Chief Guest Yasir Nainar, Director DPS- MIS; Principal Asna Nafees; Vice-Principal Senior Secondary School, Soma Bhattacharjee; Vice-Principal Senior School, Mary Cruz; Headmistress, Sini Menon, proud parents and the young achievers.
The programme commenced with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Jaefar Shameem, a student of Grade XI.
The Chief Guest Yasir Nainar, in his address, commended the meticulous efforts of the students and mentioned it is an institutionalised ceremony of DPS-MIS and helps in promoting rigour, perseverance and zest among the students. He wholehearted extolled the efforts of the teachers for going an extra mile in the smooth conduct of the online classes and valued the appreciation and encouragement of the parents.
Asna Nafees stated that this event would indeed be recorded in the annals of DPS-MIS as it is the first-of-its-kind.
Every cloud has a silver lining and this pandemic has taught us to overcome obstacles with innovative ideas and indomitable spirits.
Switching over to online classes from offline classes within no time and then conducting virtual ceremonies clearly endorses the fact that the institution follows deadlines, is committed to provide quality education, and would continue to explore the unbeaten paths to create a memorable learning environment for its students.
She congratulated the young awardees and advised all of them to grow their strengths, work on their weaknesses and maintain good relationships. She thanked the management members for their unwavering support and admired the dedicated efforts of the parents for their wards well-rounded development.
A total of 72 students were virtually awarded with badges, blue blazers, blue ties, silver medal, gold medal and certificates for their outstanding academic excellence and 100 percent attendance. The programme was anchored by Priti Modi (Activity Coordinator, Senior wing) under the supervision of Asna Nafees.
