DOHA: Sheikh Thani Bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Service (RAF) distributed 2,500 food baskets to poor families in Gaza as part of its Ramadan project abroad.
More than 18,000 people benefitted. The food baskets included basic items such as rice, sugar, flour, beans, edible oil and lintels among others. The baskets were distributed in North Gaza, Gaza City, the Middle Governorate, Khan Yunis and Rafa because a large number of children are suffering due to malnutrition in these areas.
The unemployment rate is also high and food items are very expensive.
