Doha: MES Indian School has observed Mother’s Day and International Nurses Day 2021 with students paying a glowing tribute to the mothers and the selfless service of the nurses.

The Department of English in collaboration with the Public Speaking Team organised a special programme on May 9 through the zoom platform wherein the budding young speakers exhibited their oratorical skills by giving speeches glorifying the roles played by mothers and the nurses in the lives of everyone and how the mothers were instrumental in shaping and influencing their lives. Students, in their performances, epitomised mother as teacher, friend, philosopher and guide.

Speaking on the occasion, Principal of MES Indian School, Hameeda Kadar highlighted the importance and the sacrificial roles played by mothers and nurses for the betterment of humanity. “We place mothers and nurses in high esteem and regard for their invaluable contribution to our lives,” said the principal.  She also appreciated the overwhelming response of the students and urged them to be obliged for the selfless love of mothers.

To mark the occasion various competitions were organised for the students of all sections of the school. The teachers in charge of the day’s programme were Rameesh Fathima, Rama Devi, Jency George and Praveesh Jose. School officials, parents, teachers and nurses were among those present on the occasion.
