BPS teachers attending workshop on Child Psychology and Autism Spectrum Disorder.
As a part of Continues Professional Development Program, Birla Public School organised workshops for the teachersrecently. The workshops were planned for different sections considering the requirement of the learners of various age groups.
For Kindergarten teachers workshop on ‘Autism Spectrum Disorder’, for Primary teachers ‘Classroom Games and Teaching Aids’, for Middle School, Secondary and Senior Secondary teachers ‘Foundation to Child Psychology’ were organised.
The workshops were facilitated by the expert facilitators’ of Icon Training Centre, Qatar. The resource persons motivated the teachers to be child centered, to seek parental support and to understand age appropriate psychology of the learners.
Teachers were oriented to identify the signs of psychological disorders in early age so the children can get help at the earliest. The resource person inspired the teachers to follow Howard Gardeners’ Theory of multiple intelligence, and also emphasised on the importance of games and teaching aids as well as healthy interactions with students to improve academic performances.
The resource person further emphasized that the parents play an important role therefore they also should be guided about the support to be given to the child. All the teachers participated in the workshop with great enthusiasm and expressed that it was an enriching experience for them.
