Doha: Doha will host next Saturday an academic conference on the Arab-Sino Relations, to be organized by the Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies.
Building on a series of previous conferences which focused on relations between the Arab world and other regions and countries, "The Arabs and China" will afford a venue for scholars to discuss the long history and the future prospects of relations between the Arab countries and peoples, and China, the Center said in a statement.
The two-day conference will focus on a wide range of topics, spanning Chinese involvement in Middle Eastern issues and economic and trade relations between Arab oil exporting countries and China.
The Center noted that the "Belt and Road" initiative which China launched in 2013 to revive the ancient Silk Road and Maritime Silk Road represents an opportunity to look into ways of enhancing the Arab-Chinese relations, in the framework of the diversification of partnerships between Arabs and rising powers in the world.
