Ghalia Mohd bint Hamad Al Thani, Consultant Paediatrician at Hamad Medical Corporation
Dr Ghalia is Chairperson of the Clinical Steering Planning Committee and Member of the Board of Governors for Sidra Medical and Research Centre; Member of the Board of Governors for Supreme Council for Health; Co-Chair Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar Joint Advisory Board and the Chairperson for Qatar Foundation for Child & Woman Protection. She was the Minister of Health until 2009. She qualified as an MD from the University of Jordan in 1987 and went on to specialise in paediatrics in London where she attained her MRCP (UK) in 1992. She later went on to sub-specialise in paediatric gastroenterology and established the paediatric G.I. and Hepatology section at the Hamad Medical Cooperation where she continues to practise.
