Crackdown on illegal labour camps: Rayyan Municipality books 143 violators

DOHA: In crackdowns on illegal labour camps and encroachments, inspectors from Al Rayyan Municipality have caught 143 violators and referred at least 66 cases of illegal excavations and other breaches of building safety rules to higher authorities for further action.
Some 32 cases of encroachments on public property were detected during the inspection drive and at least 125 encroachments have been asked by the civic inspectors to be removed.
At least 20 cases of illegal building excavations and breaches of building safety regulations were reconciled to.
Some 16 labor camps from family residential areas were removed and 18 administrative decision were issued to remove occupants from buildings.
Meanwhile, health inspectors from Al Shamal Municipality have raised a cleanliness awareness campaign in barber shops or men’s salons. The need for those who man these salon to maintain personal hygiene and keep their razors and other occupational paraphernalia clean was underlined during the awareness campaign.
