Doha: Turkish Airlines, the national carrier of Turkey opened its new office in Doha yesterday, to meet increasing customer demand with a 55 percent growth in passenger traffic reported from the city in the first nine months of this year, compared to same period in 2012.
This year, the national carrier of Turkey celebrates its milestone 80th anniversary and after seven years of operations here now has 10 weekly flights, connecting travellers from the city to 239 destinations globally, across 104 countries, the largest country network for an airline.
The airline’s record growth sustained across Qatar and the Middle East is in line with the growing number of tourists travelling from Qatar to Turkey, with an increase of 32.1 percent in the first nine months of this year, recorded by tourism officials.
