Doha: The French Embassy in Qatar and the Qatari Businessmen Association will organise a seminar titled “Exploring Qatari-French business opportunities in the sport industry”.
The seminar, sponsored by the Qatari-French Business Club, the French Trade Advisors and Ubifrance, will be held on November 18 at The Torch Hotel at 11am.
The seminar is expected to attract local Qatari companies and more than 40 French companies working in the sport industry. President of the French National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSF), Denis Masseglia, will also attend the event.
This will introduce the “French Team for Sport”, an initiative to promote the French know-how in the Qatari market and make use of the French expertise to participate in the implementation of sport related projects.
Gathering over 100 companies, from SMEs to large groups, this initiative is structured around four sectorial clusters: Construction and Transportation, Energy and Environment, Security and Telecommunications and Communication and Event management. It will offer integrated solutions on the whole sporting event’s value chain and provide innovative responses to address the challenges faced by Qatar in organising sporting events.
“The Qatari Businessmen Association is proud to co-organise this event with the French Embassy as part of its mission to serve different sectors of Qatar economy. As the sport industry is witnessing a huge booming due to Qatar’s hosting the 2022 World Cup, this seminar comes as an important hub to connect the local business community with their counterparts from France to discuss how to benefit from the French experience in hosting such major events,” a release said yesterday.
