MILAN: Brazilian forward Kaka will make his debut for AC Milan today when the Rossoneri visit Torino hoping to make amends after losing their first game of the season.
Kaka spent six highly successful seasons with Milan from 2003-2009, winning the Champions League and Ballon d’Or trophy for the world’s best player before signing for Real Madrid.
But, unsettled at the Santiago Bernabeu and with one eye on next year’s World Cup, he returned to the San Siro amid much fanfare two weeks ago, when he signed a two-year deal following a free transfer from Real.
Despite lacking full match fitness, Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri confirmed that Kaka can’t wait to take to the field in what should be an emotional return for the 31-year-old.
“Kaka is in good shape physically and has trained well and enthusiastically,” said Allegri yesterday.
“I think he’ll be a bit emotional ahead of his debut tomorrow and that’s normal as he’s lacking a bit of match fitness. That will come with time.”
Milan are the only expected title contenders in Serie A to have dropped points in their opening two league games, following an opening day reverse away to promoted Verona. AFP
