DOHA: The National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA), represented by the National Cyber Security Academy, yesterday took part in the eighth edition of the ‘My Career – My Future’ job-shadowing programme.
The initiative provided diverse secondary students with hands-on insight into cyber specialisations, laying the groundwork for a secure, home-grown digital workforce.
Organised by the Qatar Career Development Center (QCDC), a member of Qatar Foundation, the national initiative enabled school students with immersive experience professional work environments, explore diverse career specialisations, and enhance their overall readiness for entering the labor market.
The eighth edition of the programme saw remarkable engagement, bringing together more than 350 secondary school students from across Qatar.
Demonstrating a strong commitment to inclusivity and equal opportunities, the programme specifically integrated students with disabilities and additional educational needs, ensuring broad access to professional exposure.
To deliver comprehensive workplace experiences, a total of 33 public and private sector entities contributed by hosting participants, offering direct training, and delivering customised job-shadowing sessions across multiple operational sectors.
Within this multi-sector framework, the NCSA’s involvement stood out as a key highlight for students interested in technology and digital defense.
By opening its doors to high school participants, the Academy aimed to familiarise the next generation with the dynamic nature of cyber-related professions and specialisations.
Industry experts and educators introduced students to fundamental concepts of digital safety, threat landscape analysis, and modern cybersecurity protocols, helping demystify what it takes to protect the nation’s critical digital infrastructure.
This participation forms an essential component of the agency’s ongoing mission to nurture home-grown talent and build a cyber-aware society.
By exposing young scholars to real-world cyber operations early in their academic journeys, the Academy seeks to inspire students to pursue specialised degree programmes and professional certifications in technology fields.
