Doha: Ezdan Holding Group organised training workshops on safety, risk prevention and crises management for over 600 employees and workers who were coached by experts.
The sessions were attended by officials from the Human Resources; Security & Safety; Engineering; and Food departments concerned with improving safety means within the workplace and in the Group’s buildings.
The course, which gathered participants from the Group, Ezdan Hotels and Ezdan Real Estate, tackled safety concepts, means of identifying risks, simulations addressing emergencies, fires, safe collection and disposal of waste in the workplace and showcasing emergency exits in the buildings, compounds and workplaces.
Dr. Mousa Al Awwad, COO of the Group, said: “We prioritise and believe in the importance of maintaining the safety of our employees, residents and visitors to our facilities.
“We have organised this series of specialised safety courses as part of our efforts to stress our compliance with international standards of quality, maintain safety and apply the latest regulations to prevent accidents and raise awareness about crises management.
“This endeavour shall enhance the quality of real estate services we provide and improve our residential, hospitality and entertainment amenities.”
He said the courses are a practical application of the Group’s motto ‘Ezdan is the Place’ the management seeks to implement across its services. This includes creating a stimulating work environment for employees and maintaining their safety. The theoretical and practical courses covered definitions of universal theories of safety and its legal and ethical dimensions, simulations of managing fires by responding to alarms, familiarising staff with evacuation plans in buildings, using fire extinguishers, and helping evacuate others.
Concerned employees were also trained to sound fire alarms, declare and assess emergencies.
A full session covered means of safe equipment storage to prevent fires by storing away from possible fire sources in small corners or corridors. It included lectures on ways to maintain sound health and how to avoid work burnout that would affect the Group’s performance.
