Qatar, Hungary ink deal on economy, technology

The Minister of Business and Trade H E Sheikh Jassim bin Abdulaziz Al Thani and the Hungarian Minister of State for Climate and Energy Affairs Pal Kovacs after signing the agreement yesterday.

DOHA: Qatar and Hungary yesterday signed an agreement for cooperation in the fields of economy and technology.

The agreement was signed for Qatar by the Minister of Business and Trade H E Sheikh Jassim bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, and for Hungary by the Minister of State for Climate and Energy Affairs Pal Kovacs. 

The deal aims to establish a cooperation framework between the two countries in the economic, trade and technical fields. It calls for encouraging private sector to explore the possibilities of launching projects in these fields. 

The signing of the agreement was a part of the Hungarian official's visit to Doha. 

The Minister of Business and Trade said in a statement yesterday that the current volume of trade between the two countries does not reflect the actual friendship between them, adding that the agreement will open the doors for genuine cooperation in different areas. The Peninsula
