Legal experts from the oil and gas industry pose for a picture during the 5th annual International Legal Forum at RasGas headquarters.
DOHA: Leading oil and gas companies in Qatar recently held the fifth International Legal Forum, which was attended by more than 80 lawyers from the energy industry.
Qatar Petroleum, ExxonMobil Qatar Inc, RasGas Company Limited (RasGas), Qatargas Operating Company Limited (Qatargas), and Qatar Petroleum International joined the forum which was hosted at RasGas’ West Bay headquarters.
Globally renowned legal experts addressed issues, laws, and regulations of relevance to Qatar’s energy sector.
Opened by Hamad Rashid Al Mohannadi, Chief Executive Officer of RasGas, the forum served as a unique platform through which experts discussed a variety of legal issues. The agenda covered areas such as legal developments in Qatar, drilling and offshore contracts, and arbitration as a forum for dispute resolution, among others.
Additionally, Qatar Chamber and Qatar International Court and Dispute Resolution Center provided the forum with a unique insight into the work of these institutions.
Presentations were made by legal experts from both international and local organisations, such as Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP, McNair Chambers, and Sultan Al Abdulla & Partners.
In addition, the forum heard from lawyers from ExxonMobil’s Compliance Group, Qatar Petroleum, RasGas and Qatargas.
