Doha, Qatar: The State of Qatar expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of the attack that targeted the Consulate General of the sisterly United Arab Emirates in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq for the second time.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement, said that Qatar considered it a completely unacceptable act and a blatant violation of international norms and conventions that guarantee the protection of diplomatic missions and their premises.
It further affirmed that targeting diplomatic missions and premises constitutes a clear breach of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, and represents a dangerous escalation that threatens the security and safety of diplomatic personnel and undermines the internationally recognized rules governing diplomatic work.
The Ministry reiterated the State of Qatar’s firm position rejecting all acts of violence and terrorism that target diplomatic missions or undermine security and stability. It also affirms its solidarity with the sisterly United Arab Emirates and its support for all efforts aimed at strengthening security and stability in the sisterly Republic of Iraq and the region.
