Al Rayyan tops number of building permits in Feb

Doha: According to the geographical distribution, the municipality of Al Rayyan topped the list of municipalities with the number of building permits issued reaching 156, i.e. 24 percent of the total issued permits, while the municipality of Al Doha came in second with 135 permits, i.e. 21 percent followed by Al Wakrah municipality with 127 permits, i.e.20 percent, the municipality of Al Da’ayen 123 permits, i.e.19 percent in February 2023.

The rest of the municipalities were as follows: Um Slal 56 permits (9 percent), Al Khor 29 permits (5 percent), Al Sheehaniya 10 permits (2 percent), and finally Al Shammal 8 permits (1 percent).

In terms of type of permits issued, data indicates that the new building permits (residential and non-residential) constitutes 39 percent (251 permits) of the total building permits issued during the month of February 2023.

Planning and Statistics Authority issued the 98th edition of he monthly Statistics of Building Permits and Building Completion certificates issued by all municipalities of the State, while the percentage of additions permits constituted 57 percent (366 permits), and finally fencing permits with 4 percent (27 permits).

By analysing new residential buildings permits data, we find that villas’ top the list, accounting for 82 percent (164 permits) of all new residential buildings permits, followed by apartments buildings permits by 11 percent (22 permits) and dwellings of housing loans permits and other residential building permits by 4 percent (7 permits) each.

Commercial buildings were found to be in the forefront of non-residential buildings permits with 47 percent (24 permits), followed by industrial buildings.

E.g., workshops/factories with 29 percent (15 permits), then mosques with 16 percent (8 permits).

 

 

 

Comparing number of permits issued in February 2023 with those issued in the previous month we noted a general decrease of 11 percent. The decrease was noted in most of the municipalities: Al Sheehaniya (68 percent), Al Shammal (53 percent), Al Khor (34 percent), Al Wakrah (21 percent), Al Rayyan (13 percent), Al Doha (4 percent), On the other hand, there was a clear increase in the municipality of Um Slal (47 percent ), Al Da’ayen (11 percent).

 

On building completion certificates issued during the month of February 2023, according to their geographical distribution Al Wakrah municipality come at the top of the municipalities where the number of building completion certificates issued were 83 certificates, i.e. (24 percent) of the total issued certificates, while municipality of Al Rayyan came in second place with 79 certificates, i.e. (23 percent), followed by municipality of Al Da’ayen with 67 certificates (20 percent), then municipality of Al Doha with 57 certificates, i.e.17 percent.

Umm Slal 29 certificates 8 percent, Al Khor 17 certificates (5 percent), Al Sheehaniya 8 certificates (2 percent), Al Shammal 3 certificates 1.

 

In terms of type of certificates issued, data indicates that the new building completion certificates (residential and non-residential) constitutes 78 percent (268 certificates) of the total building certificates issued during the month of February 2023, while the percentage of additions certificates constituted 22 percent (75 certificates).

According to new residential buildings completion certificates data villas’ top the list, accounting for 86% (181 certificates) of all new residential building’s completion certificates, followed by other residential buildings by 5% (11 certificates), then dwellings of housing loans and apartments buildings certificates by 4% (9 certificates).

 

On the other hand, commercial buildings were found to be in the forefront of non-residential buildings completion certificates with 52% (30 certificates), followed by industrial buildings e.g., workshops and factories with 28 percent (16 certificates), then mosques with 10 percent (6 certificates).

 

Comparing number of certificates issued in February 2023 with those issued in the previous month we noted a general decrease of 11 percent. This decrease was clearly noted in most of the municipalities: Al Shammal (40 percent), Al Doha (30 percent), Al Rayyan (23 percent), Al Da’ayen (17 percent), On the other hand, there was a clear increase in the municipality of Al Khor (143 percent), Um Slal (21 percent), Al Sheehaniya (14 percent), Al Wakrah (5 percent).
