DOHA: Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) is inviting students and graduates interested in developing a career in tourism to explore the industry with QTA’s team at its stand at Qatar University (QU) Career Forum from today until Thursday.
The forum in College of Business & Economics – Room C219 will provide participants with an opportunity to learn more about tourism’s role in providing alternative revenue streams to the national economy, and roles graduates can play to contribute.
Omar Al Jaber, Director of Shared Services, QTA, said: “We believe in the importance of involving homegrown talent in developing Qatar’s tourism sector to ensure that visitor experiences are embedded in and reflective of the national culture and heritage. The forum is an opportunity for us to connect with young nationals and help them identify opportunities and careers in the tourism sector, which is estimated to provide up to 76,000 jobs across public and private sector members of the industry,” he said, adding in 2015, QTA achieved a 71 percent Qatarisation rate in the organisation. The Peninsula
