Energy Minister hosts farewell for QatarEnergy’s Executive Vice President for Industrial Cities

Doha, Qatar: The Minister of State for Energy Affairs, the President and CEO of QatarEnergy, HE Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, hosted a special farewell reception in honour of Abdulaziz Jassim Al-Muftah, the retiring Executive Vice President for Industrial Cities at QatarEnergy.

In remarks at the reception, His Excellency Minister Al-Kaabi extended his sincere appreciation of Al-Muftah’s long and dedicated service and recognized his leadership and outstanding contributions and achievements throughout his career.

His Excellency Minister Al-Kaabi said: “With four decades of exceptional service, Mr. Abdulaziz Jassim Al-Muftah left an enduring mark on QatarEnergy’s achievements and successes. I would like to thank him for his exemplary leadership, his invaluable contributions, and wish him all the best.”

Al-Muftah joined QatarEnergy in 1986 as a development trainee. Since then, he has occupied a series of positions including Head of Specialist Engineering, Head of Projects (Dukhan), Engineering Manager (offshore), and Director of Ras Laffan Industrial City. In November 2014, he was appointed as Executive Vice President for Industrial Cities.

Al-Muftah is succeeded by Homoud Fahad Al-Qahtani, who has 29 years of experience in industrial cities and ports management and operations, having served in several key leadership roles within QatarEnergy, the most recent of which was Manager, Mesaieed and Dukhan Concession Area.

The farewell reception was attended by all members of QatarEnergy’s executive leadership team.
