Doha: Ooredoo has announced that its free speed upgrade on the Ooredoo Fibre network is now live.
All 50Mbps home fibre plans have received a double speed increase to 100Mbps, while 100Mbps plans were boosted to 300Mbps — the fastest home fixed line connection ever offered.
Ooredoo is also offering a QR100 discount on a new enhanced Supernet Fibre Wi-Fi Broadband Gateway for all 100Mbps and 300Mbps customers.
The gateway is a new device that supports more than 40 simultaneous connections to satisfy even the most demanding of homes and employs the latest 802.11ac Wi-Fi specifications.
Yousuf Abdulla Al Kubaisi, COO, Ooredoo Qatar, said: “We’re introducing exciting new devices to let our customers experience the full power of the Ooredoo Supernet. Our new gateway device can boost speeds and give customers incredible Wi-Fi access to our 300Mbps fibre plan.”
Since May 2015, all new fibre connections have been automatically provided with the new device, but for customers wishing to upgrade or buy another device, Ooredoo has introduced the new device offer.
With the promotion valid until April-end, the device can be purchased at Ooredoo shops for QR399 instead of the usual QR499 for all 100Mbps and 300Mbps customers.
The Ooredoo Fibre network is available across Qatar, with over 260,000 homes and businesses benefiting from super-fast Internet and next generation services.
Since its launch in 2011, the fibre network has not only transformed the broadband Internet market but also the digital entertainment industry in Qatar, enabling customers to enjoy Next Generation Mozaic TV with high-definition programming and advanced features.
Customers who want to join the ‘Fibre revolution’ can view the fibre availability map on Ooredoo’s website.
The map allows them to check if they are in a fibre-ready ‘Green’ area and shows them how to apply for a fibre upgrade.
In some cases, customers are limited to the maximum speed 100 Mbps. If this applies, Ooredoo has a special offer for them.
Detailed offers, pricing and tips on how to measure the speed properly are available at www.ooredoo.qa, on the ‘At Home’ section.
