Riyadh: The heads of the working group of the Economy, Trade, and Industry Committee, stemming from the Qatari-Saudi Coordination Council, held a meeting in the Saudi capital.
The meeting was co-chaired by Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry H E Mohammed bin Hassan Al Malki, from the Qatari side, while Undersecretary for International Economic Affairs at the Ministry of Economy and Planning H E Eng. Rakan bin Waddah Tarabzouni, from the Saudi side, with the participation of several officials from both countries.
The meeting discussed the State of Qatar and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's strong ties and ways to enhance economic, trade, and industrial cooperation to serve both countries' mutual interests.
The two sides went over the agenda's items, which included examining mechanisms to facilitate import and export and promote bilateral trade.
They also discussed updates regarding ongoing joint initiatives, looking into existing obstacles and challenges, and exploring suitable mechanisms and solutions, in addition to setting the Economy, Trade, and Industry Committee's next steps.
Furthermore, both sides addressed the committee's strategic objectives and ways to strengthen integration and enhance bilateral cooperation in line with the economic visions of both the State of Qatar and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
