Hong Kong: Hong Kong shares closed lower on Wednesday after three days of gains as dealers took profits and brushed off a record close for all three indexes in New York.
The Hang Seng Index ended down 0.28 percent, or 78.16 points, at 27,894.08.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index added 0.14 percent, or 4.66 points, to 3,384.15. The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, climbed 0.44 percent, or 8.77 points, to 1,994.98.
