DOHA: Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation “Kahramaa” managed to keep the high quality performance indicators of the electricity network and reduce faults in June, July, and August 2015.
However, 230 faults were recorded during the period June to August, which represents 38 percent  of the total 599 faults in 2015.
Kahramaa, through the National Control Center, managed to meet the increasing demand for electricity in summer especially in the holy month of Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr due to the high temperatures.
Maximum load in Summer 2015 witnessed unexpected increase as it recorded 7,070 MW on August 22 compared with 6,740 MW in 2014, an increase of 5 percent. Given this fact, Kahramaa managed to keep the high quality performance indicators of the electricity network. On the other hand, 230 faults were recorded during the period June to August. The number represents 38 percent  of the total 599 faults in 2015.
Kahramaa has opened maintenance workshops in order to ensure stable electricity supplies and deal with faults on the spot in coordination with the call centre 991. The Peninsula
