The patrol unit of Al Mazrouh area of the Ministry of Municipality and Environment yesterday caught a motorist throwing waste in a place not allocated for dumping garbage near Al Kharaib Complex in Al Shahaniya. The Ministry said on its Facebook account that the offender was referred to authorities for legal action. The environment protection law prohibits dumping of waste of any kind in areas not designated for the purpose to protect the environment and public hygiene. The ministry’s patrol units monitor outside areas round the clock and has urged residents to report any violation by calling 998.
