HAVANA: Cuba will play friendly baseball matches against the US national university team, the Cuban Baseball Federation (CBF) has confirmed.
CBF President Higinio Velez said five games are scheduled for Havana’s Latin American Stadium from July 23 to 27, according to a Cuban News Agency report.
Velez said he will suggest to US the possibility of playing some of these games in Pinar del Rio and Matanzas, territories that witnessed the final games of the last season of the Cuban Baseball Championship. A pre-selection of young baseball players with conditions to be part of the Cuba team to the 2017 World Classic, which will play the game against the United States will soon be announced.AGENCIES
