Tornadoes Academy, launched in 2010 by Park House English School, is a non-contact Tag Rugby Club that caters to boys and girls of all ages. Students from different schools attend the academy. Tornadoes Academy today has 95 children participating in the sport and five coaches. Andy Coomer, the Head Coach and Primary PE Head at Park House, commented: “We help children develop and learn a range of skills. It provides a forum for young people to learn how to deal with competition and how to cope with both winning and losing, and respect for each other and for their coaches.”

“Tornados is our first community-based venture and we are delighted to have extended the close relationship that we have with GAC into a sponsorship of Tornados.” said Niall Brennan, Director and son of the founder of Park House, Heather Brennan.

Mikko Weiru, General Manager of GAC, commented: “It’s the right thing to do for businesses to give back to the community. We are always on the lookout for initiatives to assist, partnering with Park House to support Tornadoes Academy, an academy that serves the whole community, is a way for us to invest in the future of Qatar through education”.The Peninsula
